<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The prevalence of obesity continues to rise worldwide, necessitating the development of effective and long-term treatments. Bariatric surgery has shown its effectiveness in reducing body weight and the manifestations of diseases that are closely related to obesity. But there are side effects of these operations that affect the quality of life and life expectancy and can vary significantly depending on the type of surgery. Therefore, patients require lifelong follow-up to reduce the risk of complications and nutritional deficiencies. However, the awareness of the bariatric surgery potential and management of patients after bariatric surgery remains low among physicians in most specialties.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>бариатрическая хирургия</kwd><kwd>эффективность</kwd><kwd>осложнения</kwd><kwd>желудочное шунтирование</kwd><kwd>рукавная резекция желудка</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>bariatric surgery</kwd><kwd>effectiveness</kwd><kwd>complications</kwd><kwd>gastric bypass</kwd><kwd>sleeve gastrectomy</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Дедов И. К. и др.
