Исследования митохондриального генома требуют определенных технических и концептуальных знаний. В данном обзоре обобщенны сведения о свойствах, видах изменчивости, методах исследования и особенностях работы с мтДНК.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Owing to unique properties mtDNA its analysis is widely applied in diagnostics of mitochondrial diseases and forensic medical examination, studying of evolution of the person and genealogical researches, search of the reasons of aging, oncologic and socially important somatopathies. Researches of mitochondrial genome demand certain technical and conceptual knowledge.
