<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The factors associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease/steatohepatitis in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD) were studied. A high incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease/steatohepatitis was revealed in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In patients with IBD, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease was associated with age and the presence of metabolic risk factors, as well as high disease activity. In patients with CD, an association of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease with the extraintestinal manifestations of the basic disease was observed. In patients with CD without metabolic risk factors, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease was associated with hospitalization rates. The presence of Epstein — Barr virus and cytomegalovirus in the mucous membrane of the large intestine is not associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease/steatohepatitis.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>неалкогольный стеатогепатоз</kwd><kwd>воспалительные заболевания кишечника</kwd><kwd>болезнь Крона</kwd><kwd>язвенный колит</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>non-alcoholic fatty liver disease</kwd><kwd>inflammatory bowel diseases</kwd><kwd>Crohn’s disease</kwd><kwd>ulcerative colitis</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Gizard E., Ford A.C, Bronowicki J.P., Peyrin-Biroulet L.
