Article is devoted to the 80th anniversary of NSMU and one of its first chairs: public health and health care services chair. The main periods of development of chair connected with the changes in higher education institution and in the country are considered in the article. Directions of scientific and practical activities are analyzed to present status of the chair. The special attention is paid to such important component in the work of chair, as interaction with agencies of practical health care. Materials of research are reports on stories of health care of Siberia, article on history NSMU, materials of scientific conferences, collections of articles, etc.
