IMPROVEMENT OF MICROSURGICAL METHODS OF COSMETIC BLEPHAROPLASTY

Abstract

The immediate and remote results of microsurgical esthetic blepharoplasty at 123 35-50-year-old patients, mainly women, are analyzed. The immediate results of microsurgical esthetic blepharoplasty at all operated patients are quite satisfactory, and only at the 3rd of (2,43%) patients from the surveyed group the result was not quite satisfactory. The reason was residual hernias on lower eyelids at one patient (0,81 %) and surplus of skin on upper eyelids at two patients (1,62 %). The analysis of the remote results of microsurgical esthetic blepharoplasty after three years’ observation didn’t reveal any unsatisfied with operation patients. Only in 5 years the 4 patients (3,25 %) needed repeated interventions in connection with the continuing involutional changes of skin of eyelid.
